UK-based travel magazine Time Out showed only one address in Turkey among "50 coolest neighborhoods" where visitors 'do not feel like tourists, eat, drink and hang around as its natives. Kadıköy ranked 43rd on the list of 50 colorful cities from Germany to America, India to Japan.
‘KADIKÖY GAINED POPULARITY IN THE LAST FEW YEARS’
In order to determine the 50 addresses in different parts of the world, local Time Out organized a survey for its writers as well as 15 thousand people. For Kadıköy, it is said that "Kadıköy, on the Asian side of Istanbul and on the shores of the Sea of Marmara has gained popularity in the last few years. Hundreds of cafes, restaurants, new bars, design studios and shops opened here, makes the area a place to go for those who want to see how the city hangs out in a more tranquil setting, rather than the frustration of the European side." The magazine gave advice to readers about eating, drinking, and what to do in the '50 coolest districts of the world'.
IT WAS ADVISED TO ‘HAVE BREAKFAST IN MODA'
The article that defined that Kadıköy as "It has its own style, spirit and people. Not to mentipon its nightlife, which extends from night clubs to concerts", advised readers to go to the tavern at Haydarpaşa Train Station, one of the most important historical treasures of Istanbul, and eating appetizers, raki and fish. Another suggestion in the magazine was to go to a bar accompanied by DJ in Kadife Street in Kadıköy and watch live performances. On the other hand, having a picnic on the lawn at the Moda Coast was also a recommendation.
